MONEY UNLEASHED – THE STORY OF AN INVENTION

Financial crises, digital currencies and now a pandemic: central banks and governments everywhere are up in arms. They are countering the current crisis with a massive glut of money. But where did all this money suddenly come from? And the more fundamental question: Where does money come from anyway? What kind of invention did humankind sign up for here?
In cooperation with the Swiss National Bank, the exhibition of the Bernisches Historisches Museum takes visitors on a journey to the origins of money and invites the public to engage in an important debate about our current monetary system.
