DENISE MITRANO

Winner of the Marie Heim-Vögtlin-Prize 2021

How much microplastic is in our drinking water? Denise Mitrano, environmental chemist at ETH Zurich, invented a new measuring method to trace the secret pathways of tiny plastic particles. This will help us prevent them from entering the environment in the future. In recognition of her achievements, she has been awarded the 2021 Marie Heim-Vögtlin Prize of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
